The Pythian Club x Capital One: Making a Difference in Our City
Last week, The Pythian Club had the privilege of joining forces with Capital One for a truly memorable outreach day—one that brought our community together and made a real impact in the heart of the city.
Our day began with friendly introductions, as volunteers from both The Pythian Club and Capital One gathered, many meeting for the first time. The energy in the room was infectious, with everyone eager to get started and make a difference.
After a quick briefing on our outreach plans, we rolled up our sleeves and got to work meal prepping. There’s something special about working side by side, chopping, packing, and preparing nutritious meals, knowing they’ll soon be in the hands of those who need them most. The teamwork and enthusiasm from the Capital One staff were incredible—they brought fresh ideas, positive energy, and a genuine desire to help.
With meals and essential drinks ready, we partnered with NET Trams, who generously provided transport to help us reach the city centre efficiently. Their support meant we could focus on what mattered most: connecting with people experiencing homelessness and offering them not just food and drink, but also kindness and conversation.
As we distributed the meals, it was clear how much these small gestures meant. The gratitude and smiles we received were a powerful reminder of why we do what we do. It was also inspiring to see the Capital One team engage so wholeheartedly—every single member brought compassion and respect to every interaction.
Reflecting on the day, we’re filled with gratitude for our partners at Capital One and NET Trams. Their commitment and collaboration made this outreach possible, and we’re excited about what we can achieve together in the future.
