Making Impact at Bulwell Academy

Strong communities are built when schools and local organisations work together to support young people.

Earlier in the week, the Pythian club had a great meeting with the leadership team at Bulwell Academy in Nottingham to discuss how stronger collaboration between schools and community organisations can create more positive opportunities for young people.

At The Pythian Club, our focus is simple: engage young people early, provide structure, and create environments where they can build confidence, discipline, and a sense of belonging. Through sport, mentoring, and targeted outreach, we work with young people who may be at risk of disengagement and help redirect them toward positive pathways.

Our programmes across Nottinghamshire have contributed to reductions in anti-social behaviour of between 60–70% in areas where we have delivered targeted engagement. These outcomes demonstrate the power of early intervention and strong local partnerships.

Schools play a vital role in identifying where support is needed most, and conversations like this are an important step toward building coordinated approaches that benefit both students and the wider community.

Looking forward to continuing the conversation with Bulwell Academy and exploring how we can work together to deliver meaningful impact for young people and the local area.
