How is Bulwell doing today?
Today The Pythian Club carried out community outreach in the Bulwell area, speaking with a number of local businesses including Tesco, Poundland, Teaco, KFC, Heron Foods and Iceland.
During the outreach we spoke with staff to check in on how things have been recently within the town centre and to gather feedback around general activity, including youth presence after school hours and any concerns that businesses may be experiencing.
Overall, businesses advised that while groups of young people do pass through the area during the afternoons, behaviour is generally manageable. Some businesses also mentioned that the town centre can occasionally see disruption from intoxicated individuals, which can sometimes create challenges for staff.
Community outreach like this is important as it allows us to build strong relationships with local businesses, understand the challenges they may face, and continue working together to support the local community. We also took the opportunity to speak about the work the Pythian Club does across Nottingham through sport, mentoring and youth engagement programmes that help provide positive opportunities for young people.
Thank you to the businesses that took the time to speak with us today — we look forward to continuing to support the Bulwell community.
