Kimberley visit: Connecting for collaboration

“A very productive and positive visit in Kimberley today, meeting with Laura Machin, and Danny the Deputy Head at THE KIMBERLEY SCHOOL team to explore how we can strengthen collaboration between the school and The Pythian Club.

During the mee
ting, we discussed a range of opportunities that could benefit students through structured programmes and positive engagement. These included Young Leadership initiatives, accredited courses, educational workshops, presentations, and potential work experience opportunities. By working together, we aim to create pathways that help young people build confidence, develop important life skills, and gain valuable experiences that support both their personal development and future aspirations.

Safeguarding and student wellbeing were also key parts of the discussion, ensuring that any programmes delivered are safe, supportive, and inclusive for all young people involved. It was encouraging to see a shared commitment to creating opportunities that empower students and provide them with positive environments to learn, grow, and develop.

Alongside the meeting, we also carried out community outreach within the Kimberley area, connecting with local businesses and strengthening relationships within the community. We visited stores including Poundstretcher Ltd, Sainsbury's, and Heron Foods, discussing ways local organisations can play a role in supporting community initiatives and youth engagement.

Building strong partnerships between schools, community organisations, and local businesses is essential in creating meaningful opportunities for young people, and today’s visit was another positive step towards making that happen.”
